How can humans learn from plant society?
ResidenzaLAB is a poetic exercise in conviviality and participation. Plants need each other to survive. The project asks: How can we understand and transform their capabilities to participate in our future?
Through a working group created by Annex Cultura ETS, we will connect people from diverse walks of life and artists from Italy and abroad. All participants will become active members of the project: artists, host homes, citizens, associations, the curator, and the collaborating experts.
The ResidenzaLAB experience aims to create situations in which people think and act collaboratively through listening, study, and dialogue. Guests engaged in various artistic fields, such as participatory art, will collaborate with experts and artists from the San Costanzo area (Italy) to develop best practices for dialogue between different realities and languages.
We envision this project as a large, heterogeneous group, where the sharing of knowledge and interest in the various facets of the question "How can humans learn from plant society?" will develop over the three years of this experience.
The documentation will grow each year as a source of best practices, distributed to those who wish to initiate an open process aimed at shared change as a sustainable model.
During its first year, our initiative was sponsored, among others, by Pesaro 2024, Italian Capital of Culture, with the theme "The Nature of Culture."
The first edition of ResidenzaLAB will take place from September 15 to 25, 2025. I am thrilled to be able to begin this work. Find the public program below and come, come!

CALL FOR
ARTISTS
Many of you responded to our call. Thank you so much for your interest! We spoke to five of you, and we invited three artists in January. The decisions were not easy, but we will happily announce their names in spring and welcome them in September 2025 in San Costanzo (PU), Italy. Together, we will contribute to living openly and responsibly, following the inspirations and examples set by the world of plants.
We're delighted to invite you to get to know them. Together with artists and the community, we follow the inspiration and example offered by the world of plants. We look forward to diving into this work of research, dialogue, and collaboration.
